About NerveUs
Why did we create this resource?
Most peripheral nerve injuries (PNI)s result from unexpected accidents and treatment is filled with uncertainty given variation in injury, treatment options, and recovery timeline. As a result, patients can feel overwhelmed and unsure of what to expect, especially in a clinical setting.
Although the digital space has made it easier for individuals to seek out health information, educational resources on this topic are sparse and often limited by a lack of engagement and a high reading level.
To bridge this gap, Nerveus is an accessible, comprehensive, and interactive educational tool that addresses patient pain points by providing clear information about PNI, the treatment timeline, procedure options, and recovery expectations.
The project aim is to develop an interactive web resource that guides PNI patients and their families through treatment and recovery.
Key objectives include:
-
To create a comprehensive educational tool that addresses high priority pain points and questions indicated by PNI patients.
-
To use interactive and visual features to increase accessibility of educational resources and increase patient engagement in their treatment.
-
To develop a tool that empowers patients to make informed healthcare decisions and effectively communicate with physicians and allied health professionals.
